MONTCLAIR, NJ – Manhattanville University Women's Soccer dropped Saturday afternoon match at Montclair State University. The Valiants fall to 0-2 while the Red Hawks improve to 3-0-1 in the early season.
The goals came early for the Red Hawks with three being scored within the first 15 minutes of play. Hannah Djokic (Roselle Park, N.J./Academy for Allied Health Sciences) and Jazleen Vega (Land O' Lakes, Fla./Sunlake) fired off the lone shots in the first half for the Valiants. Gabrielle Billetz (Clarksburg, Mass./Hoosac Valley) made the start in the goal, recording three saves over the course of the first 45 minutes.
Elliott Allen (Las Vegas, Nev./Cimarron-Memorial) entered the contest for the second half of play, quickly making three saves all around the goal. During the stretch of '51 through '59 the home team tallied on three additional goals including a penalty kick completion.
The final goal of the day was scored in the 62nd minute.
Lorelai McDaniel (Buckeye, Ariz./Millennium) and Lexi Leone (Billings, Mont./Billings West) fired off shots in the final five minutes of play but were ultimately blanked by Montclair in the 90 minutes.
