STAFF POSITIONS

The Manhattanville Department of Athletics & Recreation does not currently have any part-time staff positions.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT STAFF POSITIONS
Graduate Assistantships are currently available in Men's Soccer, Women's Volleyball, Cross Country/Track & Field, Men's Hockey, Men's/Women's Tennis, Baseball, Softball, Facilities/Game Operations, Strength & Conditioning, and Athletic Communications. The positions are designed for two years of study, subject to maintaining a 3.0 GPA, at which point the graduate assistant should have a completed master's degree. 

The qualified applicants will assist in all facets of coaching a Division III team. Additional responsibilities are included, but not limited to academic monitoring, recruiting qualified student athletes, and team management. The qualified applicant must be able to work with various campus constituents as well as alumni and friends of the program.   

Core Competencies/Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key competencies:
  • Knowledge of effective coaching techniques and best practices
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment and to establish and maintain effective work relationships with school administrators, parents, students, and alums
  • Ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, athletic and college administration
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Current knowledge of rules and policies of the NCAA Division III
  • Intercollegiate playing experience
  • Valid US Driver's License
Hiring is contingent upon acceptance into a qualified Master's Program at Manhattanville College

Physical Demands/Other Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel required for competitions and recruiting.

Game-Day Assistants

Athletic Communications Game-Day Assistants
The Athletic Communications Department seeks students interested in taking statistics at Manhattanville home games. A basic knowledge of any of the following sports — soccer, field hockey, volleyball, ice hockey, basketball, lacrosse, baseball and/or softball — is required, as is attendance at a mutually-agreed-upon minimum amount of games during the season(s). Training with the statistical program for all sports would be provided. Athletic Communications Broadcasting Assistants
The Athletic Communications Department has positions available as part of its extensive audio and video broadcasting services. Possible tasks include camera operation, producing, on-air broadcasting (play-by-play, color commentary or sideline reporting), and post-game video production. A working knowledge of the sports that we broadcast is necessary and any experience or familiarity with sports broadcasts is highly beneficial but not mandatory. Intramurals Assistants
Organize, supervise, advertise for intramural program and serve as the student liaison. Assist with running and officiating intramural games, recreation events, and monitoring open facility hours.
