Manhattanville Celebrates First Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Class

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College Department of Athletics held its first Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday night in Reid Castle's West Room, as more than 150 friends of the department came together to celebrate the careers of former Valiants Theresa Carey '82, Joel Daunic, Roger Dunphy '80 and Judith Felice Shea MD '81.
 
Director of Athletics Keith Levinthal and Vic Scipioni '92, chairman of the Manhattanville Athletics Hall of Fame Committee, started the night by speaking before dinner and thanking all attendees for their support of the inductees and the Manhattanville Department of Athletics.
 
Following dinner, the four honorees were formally inducted into the Hall of Fame, receiving their Hall of Fame jackets following a speech by the inductor of their choosing. Former women's basketball player Laura Garvey '82 inducted Carey, former Manhattanville coaches Frank Forker and Tim Cohane inducted Daunic, Cohane and former roommate Ken Cooper '80 inducted Dunphy, and former Manhattanville swimming coach John Collins inducted Shea.
